Contest Guidelines

Due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic situation, the 2022 Comic Book Expo and Career Workshop has been cancelled. 

 

CONTEST GUIDELINES & RULES FOR 4TH COMIC/ ZINE EXPO & CAREER WORKSHOP

CONTESTANTS: Contest is open to all CSUSB and PDC students.

Topics/Storylines can ONLY involve or be based on the following:

· Environmental Health Science

· Health & Wellness

· Climate change, Pollution

· Green Technology

· Sustainability, Recycling

· Diversity, Inclusivity & Equity

· Species Extinction Prevention

· Literacy

· Global, National, or Local Economy

· Social Justice

ENTRY DEADLINE:

Entries must be submitted by midnight, Feb 7, 2022. No exceptions

ENTRY GUIDELINES:

Entries must be no longer than 12 pages (including front/back cover), within size 7 x 10, in print ready PDF ONLY, and the file must be less than 10MB. No exceptions.

Contestants MUST complete the form and submit their work via the following Google Drive link: https://forms.gle/FLebLGB5x1xygL1b7

Entries can be submitted by individuals or groups.

Contestants must include contact information with their submission: name(s), phone/cell number & CSUSB student email address.

CONTEST RULES:

Each entry must be an original creation. Any plagiarism will be disqualified.

Submissions are judged based on originality, cultural/social competence, relevance, resonance, and correctness.

The credits must include the name(s) of the graphic designer(s) and writers of the material, and must be listed on the inside of the front or back cover.

Entries must be submitted from a CSUSB student email account. No exceptions

PRIZES:

1st place winner will receive 200 printed copies of their comic book or zine, and a $100 gift card. 2nd place winner a $100 gift card; & 3rd place winner a $50 gift card.

Winner(s) will be announced Feb. 17, 2022 during Pfau Library’s Comic/Zine Expo & Career Workshop.

Contestants should plan to attend the Comic/Zine Expo & Career Workshop on Feb. 17, 2022.
