DURING THE WINTER of 2024, the Great Horned Owls (Bubo virginianus) nested, and raised their young on a ledge at the Pfau Library. In a previous article, I shared an informative story with interviews and amazing pictures from our faculty and staff about the same wonderful experience in the fall 2013 issue of the Peacock titled “Great Horned Owls and a rescue at the Pfau”. Our precious owls continue to dwell and nest here because this campus is their home. In fact, this area has been their habitat along with other wildlife since before the campus was built.

So, along with sharing some information from a great interview with Tori Croom, Animal Health Technician, and photos of the owlet rescues, there are some selected photos featured both in this article and afterwards, courtesy of several avid admirers of our Great Horned owls.
