How to get started using the PL-111 collaboration room at Pfau Library

What can you do in PL-111?

PL-111 is a flexible meeting space located next to Starbucks on the first floor of Pfau Library on the San Bernardino campus.

Reserve this room for hybrid or online meetings, videoconferencing, group study, or small events. CSUSB users can reserve the room for up to two hours a day. Reservations can be made up to seven days in advance.

The room seats 14 people and features a 84" monitor. You can use the monitor by logging into a built-in Windows computer, or following instructions to connect to your own device. The screen supports Windows, Macintosh and Chrome OS laptops, tablets, and phones. 

How to log in to the computer

Follow these steps to log in to the built-in computer in PL-111:

  1. Make sure the monitor is turned on. The power button is located near the bottom right corner of the screen. 
  2. Make sure the computer unit is turned on. The computer is attached to the back of the monitor and is labeled. 
  3. Press the Input button on the remote control or the gear button on the front of the monitor repeatedly to cycle through available input options. Select HDMI 1 input to have the computer control the screen.
  4. Log in to the computer using your CoyoteID number and password.

How to connect your device to the monitor

Follow these steps to connect your device to the monitor:

  1. Make sure the monitor is turned on. The power button is near the bottom right corner of the screen. 
  2. Press the Input button on the remote control or the gear button on the front of the screen repeatedly to cycle through available inputs. Select HDMI 2 input to display the connection instructions for various devices. 
  3. The monitor will display instructions for Apple IOS devices, Android devices (including Chromebooks), Windows computers and Macintosh computers. Follow the on-screen instructions specific to your device to:
    1. Connect to the PL-111 wireless network
    2. Turn on screen sharing on your device
    3. Enter the code displayed on the monitor to finish pairing your device with the monitor

How to get help

Try these basic troubleshooting steps first. Then notify the Service Desk for further assistance. 

If the screen shows a "NO INPUT" message or is blank...

  • Check to see that the monitor and built-in computer are awake and HDMI1 is the input.

If you cannot pair your device with the screen...

  • Make sure your device has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on.
  • Make sure your device is connected to the PL-111 wireless network. 
  • Make sure that your device is mirroring the PL-111 screen.

If you cannot type anything into the built-in computer's login screen...

  • Make sure the wireless keyboard and mouse are switched on.
