This guide links to video editing resources we discussed at our October 28, 2025 class meeting.

The Innovation Studio is a reservable audio/video production space located on the fourth floor of Pfau Library.
CSUSB students can reserve the studio in two hour blocks. The space includes a Mac workstation, cameras, lights, soundboard and lightglass.
Available software for video and sound editing includes:

CSUSB offers a campus subscription to Adobe Premiere as part of the Adobe Creative Suite. It's pre-installed on lab computers, including the Innovation Studio. Students can pay $19.99 for a one year license that allows you to download the Suite for home use on a laptop. ITS, not the library, supports this software. Instructions to get Adobe Creative Suite are available here.

Shotcut is a video editor compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux. It is free and open source software (FOSS) developed under a GPLv3 license. ITS and Pfau Library do not provide support for Shotcut. Users have created an extensive library of how-to articles and video tutorials.
Adobe Premiere tutorials are available from adobe.com/learn.
To view introductory Premiere tutorials, click on Premiere Pro and select Beginner in the Skill Level drop down menu.
I've called out some useful tutorials here:
Start your video editing project
Automatically add and translate captions
Export and share your travel video with the world
