For the Riverside Press Enterprise, please see the Rivera Library at UC Riverside (holdings: 1883-present).

Without an index, the only way to find an article is to have some idea of the date it might have been published. Most of the newspapers on this list, with the exception of the Sun, have no indexes.

CSUSB users should search the digitized version of the San Bernardino Sun for best results. Prior to the digitization project, the Sun had several partial indexes:

  • at Feldheym Public Library, by general subject only, mid-1960’s to mid-1980’s, and 1990-98, plus a more extensive clippings file of stories of local interest
  • at Crafton Hills College Library, 1983 – present, only for news items about San Bernardino and Riverside counties
  • some obituaries are indexed at Rootweb's Obituary Index

For those outside our local area doing genealogy or other family research: We're sorry, but Pfau Library does not conduct searches for obituaries or other articles from our historic papers on microfilm. If you have an exact citation (including date and page number) for an article, your best option is to request the article through your local library's Interlibrary Loan service.
