Create & Link to a Playlist

  1. Sign in to your personal account within Alexander St. Press. If you don't have one already, you'll need to create one.
Click the person icon at upper right to login.
  2. Display the track or album you want to add to a playlist.
  3. Click "Select Item" (the plus icon). This creates a temporary list of selections.
For an album, options display immediately below.
For a track, look for the "plus" icon, which is the same as "Select Item."
  4. When you've added all you want: make sure you are viewing your list.
If you aren't already viewing your list, choose "View List" from the upper right corner.
  5. Then select "Playlist" at lower left.
The playlist option appears at the lower left of the "My List" page.
  6. You can add the titles to an existing list, or create a new one.
Choose an existing list, or type a name to add your selections to a new list.
  7. If you're creating a new list, be sure to use the "Edit Playlist" button to make some important changes:
"Edit Playlist" appears under your playlist's title.
    • MAKE SURE OTHERS AT YOUR INSTITUTION CAN SEE THE LIST!!!
    • Add descriptions, change the name, or change the order as desired.
    • Click the "Save Changes" button.

Instructors, if you want to create a link to your playlist to include in Blackboard:

  1. Click the "Embed/Link" button.
  2. Copy the Permalink and paste it URL into your Web page.
  3. The link should already include the library's proxy prefix, so you don't need to add it.

Here's the finished example: John Adams Playlist
