You can include links to library resources like articles, journals, ebooks, or databases in any web page. If it's a resource that requires a subscription, then some special treatment may be needed to make that resource available for our students both on and off campus.
First, the resource must have a stable or durable URL. Second, the URL must include the library's proxy server prefix.
The proxy server prefix is http://libproxy.lib.csusb.edu/login?url=
Any URL with the proxy prefix attached will have two "http" elements in it. There must be no spaces between the prefix and the resource URL. A correctly prefixed URL will look something like this:
http://libproxy.lib.csusb.edu/login?url=http://www.servername.com/pagename.htm
Sometimes, all the work is done for you, so you don't need to add the proxy info; you can just copy and paste an existing link.
Other times, you must add the proxy prefix yourself.
(Not sure if we have the article you want? Try throwing the title into OneSearch.) For articles on the EBSCOhost and ProQuest platforms, check the article record for a stable/durable URL that you can copy and paste.
For most other articles from library databases, you can copy the URL that appears in your browser, but then you must add the proxy prefix to the front.
Find the database on Pfau Library's list of Databases A-Z or by Subject. Copy and paste the link given on the list.
Find the journal in Pfau Library’s Journals List. Click the journal’s title. From the icons along the top of the screen, click the Permalink icon, then copy and paste.
Find the ebook in OneSearch. Click the book’s title. From the icons along the top of the screen, click the Permalink icon, then copy and paste.
