What Does Zotero Do?
"Zotero is a free, easy-to-use tool to help you collect, organize, annotate, cite, and share research."
- From the Zotero website -
Zotero is a free, open-source citation management application that gives you the ability to capture citations and any available full text as you do your research in the library's databases, or on the internet. There's a bit of a learning curve, but so many benefits. Captured items can be organized, for example, in folders for particular assignments or classes and that's just one of Zotero's many features that can make your research process easier.
Choose a citation style and Zotero takes care of in-text citations as well as bibliographies. Just wait until you create a bibliography with one click! You will still need to review them for accuracy, but compared to doing this work without Zotero, you are still ahead of the game.
While Zotero for Mac has the same functionality as Zotero for Windows, there will be some differences.
This guide, created in 2024, covers Zotero 6.0.37 in the context of Chrome 124.0.6367.208.

Although Zotero for Mac works with other browsers, it works best with Chrome.
